Food & Shopping: Home / Introduction

Before you start this unit, think about the following questions...

  1. What kinds of foods do you think grow in Cuba ?
  2. How often do you eat at an ethnic restaurant or try new things when you
eat out?  Can you name a few restaurants in your area where Spanish is
spoken?  Can you a few other ethnic restaurants?
  3. How often is your family unable to eat what you want because it is
    unavailable or too expensive?
  4. Where does your family buy groceries?  Do you go to more than one place? How often do you go to an open air market?
  5. How would you imagine the Cuban diet to be?  spicy?   with lots of meat?
      tortillas?  beans?  potatoes?
