Questions:

  1. Why do you think that the belief system of Santería and the many Lucumí expressions were able to survive despite 400 years of repression? Why would you hold on to your religion if you were in a foreign land?

Obviously attempting to capture the essence of a religion on one or two pages of the internet is an impossible undertaking.  The preceding pages were meant to be only a superficial introduction to a very complex and intricate belief system.  The following books and web pages can help you learn more.
